Looking for a race that starts downtown, finishes at a local brewery, and is still 95% single-track???
The Runner’s Flat 50K pulls it all together for you!

The 50K and 25K courses quickly hit the dirt for 15.5 mile loops on beautiful, fast singletrack along the Cedar River bottom and now include a ferry ride via canoe across scenic Brinker Lake.

Three aid stations per lap staffed by the best volunteers in the Midwest will keep you fueled and hydrated.

The 10K will hit the first and last sections of single-track through Huggy Bear and Wonderland trails and get you back to the start in time for the Kids Races at 10 a.m.

All races start downtown Cedar Falls on 2nd St., beside Single Speed Brewing and The Runner’s Flat.

We like to get the whole family involved when we can so we’ll have a kids run with a little off-road flavor of it’s own.  This run starts at the start line for the rest of the events as well.

After the killer effort, we’ll do our best to help you get ready for the after-party with the help of
Athletico Physical Therapy from Cedar Falls.  They’ll be on-site from 10 to 2 to offer post-race therapy to anyone that participates in the 10K through 50K.

Once moving again, we’ll head you into Single Speed Brewing where you’ll get a free pint in your newly-earned, event logo, pint glass and we’ll serve you up some chili and cheese bread to go along with it!

We’d love you to plan to hang with us after the races so we’re having live music and for the kids, face painting and balloon artists.  Make it a day and bring the whole family.

You’ll have (3) Aid Stations per lap.  One at the Start/Finish Area, another at The Lodge at the back of George Wyth State Park (around Mile 4), another at The Beach (around Mile 10.5), and again at the Start/Finish Area when you come through either the finish or the 1/2 way point.
***Please be advised that this is an off-road, ultra event.  For those doing the 25 and 50K events, you will be expected to carry a handheld water bottle or hydration pack and have a hydration and fueling plan.  The aid stations will be stocked nicely but should not be your sole source of fuel and intake for your race duration.***

Drop Bags- We will offer a drop bag area for those in the 50K near the start/finish area which is also the 1/2 way point.  You can have a friend help or simply grab and go as you come through the 1/2 way point of the race.  It will NOT be aided with volunteers except for staff keeping your gear secure.  Using a bag that is easily identifiable or using some sort of marking on your bag is highly suggested.

Offerings- We will again, proudly serve Tailwind along with gels of various brands and flavors, S-Caps, water, coke, mountain dew, pretzels, m&ms, salty chips, and probably a few other delicacies that each station will supply from the kindness of their hearts.

The race course if full of excellent opportunities to take in the racers efforts.  The Start line doubles as the 1/2 way point and drop-bag station for the 50K, and is also the finish line for all races as well.

Most of the course is conveniently accessible by vehicle.

Brinker Lake Parking area will give you views of the canoe crossing as well as let you see the runners return from BLT trail on the gravel road before taking the paddler’s trail up onto the George Wyth Lake Dike.

Both Aid Stations, the BEACH and THE LODGE are accessible by vehicle as well.

All of the above areas are within 3 to 5 min. of driving from one another, making them perfect for viewing your athletes at multiple spots throughout the day.

George Wyth State Park will take the most time to get to.  Going from the starting line, you’ll need 5 to 7 min. of drive time down the highway to get into the State Park.  Once there, you’ll be able to see runners at no less than 5 spots along the course.

Event is held rain or shine. Event will be delayed due to severe weather / lightning.

All event staging will take place at The Runner’s Flat, 120 Main St., in downtown Cedar Falls.  There is packet pick up the day before as well as the morning of.  The Start/Finish area as well as the drop-bag tables for 50K participants is literally 20 yards from the back door of TRF.
All Post-Race festivities will be in the Start/Finish area street side of The Runner’s Flat and Single Speed Brewing.
