Hilltoppers is a Summer Training Program designed to prepare junior high and high school runners for cross-country. Each individual is placed into a group with athletes of similar fitness levels. They are coached with the goal of having them ready for their upcoming cross-country season with their team and coaches.
HILLTOPPERS is more than just about physical conditioning. We cover a variety of topics related to running with guest speakers consisting of post-collegiate runners, coaches, and experts in various fields of study including nutrition and strength training.
Practices take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 5:30 p.m. from various parks and trailheads around the greater Cedar Valley. Training starts the beginning of June finishes the end of July.
Cost is $75 and includes insurance and a T-shirt.

Tiger Cross Country is designed to prepare grade school runners for cross-country in a fun and encouraging environment. Each individual will be placed into a group with athletes of similar fitness levels as we work first, on having fun, and then on increasing fitness while focusing on proper running form, playing games, and running workouts at local parks and trails.
The cost is $80 and includes racing singlet, Professional Coaching by The Runner’s Flat Staff, Local School Teacher/Coaches, UNI Student/Athletes and incredible volunteers, plus facility rentals and expenses.
Practices take place on Tuesdays from 5:30-6:45 p.m. and Sundays from 2:00-3:00 p.m.
The Season runs from September to first part of November.
